Always Thankful

This turkey is thankful for spray tans

This post was supposed to go up over the Thanksgiving weekend, but it didn’t. So then I thought it was too late to post it, but this is my blog and I can do whatever the hell I want when I want, so I’m posting it…almost a week after Thanksgiving.  Besides, I’m always thankful for these things, not just on Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for…

my family.  An uber-supportive husband and three totally imperfect-in-a-good-way children that make every day a day worth living. I adore them. I love them. I can’t imagine life without them.

my friends.  Old and new. From those I’ve known since I was in diapers to those I met in the last couple of months. They enrich my life and make it so much more fun.

my heritage. I’m 100% Lithuanian. So is my husband. We are the first generation of our families born in the US. Growing up speaking another language and being so tightly tied-into the Lithuanian community has given me experiences and friends that have enriched my life in ways I can’t even begin to explain. I consider my Lithuanian heritage an enormous gift, although I sometimes forget to treat it that way.

my career. I am so fortunate to have my own business and make a living doing what I love to do. I love marketing and get a total buzz out of helping my clients market better and strengthen the experiences they provide their customers.

my minivan. May not be the hippest ride in town, but those power-sliding doors have saved my ass on more than one occasion. It’s dope, yo!

my blog. It’s mine. Mine all mine. I can be myself here and do whatever I please. I can drop ‘f’-bombs when I want. I write whenever I want, while wearing my pjs…or perhaps, nothing at all…(I really wouldn’t ever do that. I am constantly freezing and besides my chair has this mesh seating service that would give me total waffle butt.)

a good bra. Performing unimaginable feats, a good bra can take your I-breastfed-three-kids boobs and turn them into something resembling a nice rack. It’s magical.

under-eye concealer. Anything that can minimize or hide the dark circles and luggage I have under my eyes deserves a shout out.

large sunglasses. see description above

spray tan. Because tan cellulite is better than white cellulite any day.

a sense of humor. Laughter- it cures what ails ya!

the pedi-egg. Makes my heels far less T-Rex-like.

hoodies. Hoodies are a staple in my SoCal wardrobe. I have quite the collection going – thick, thin, faux-fur lined, plain, patterned, solid. Love ‘em!

coffee. The juice of life. I could not get through the day without it.

my readers! Those of you who come here and visit me in my little corner of the interwebs. I am thankful that you take time to read through my nonsense and hope that the words here occasionally connect with you.

blog comments. Comments are like crack for bloggers…and I’m an addict. Feed my addiction…Be an enabler. Start now.

Hi Andrea! Love the spray tan turkey and, yes, you can do whatever the hell you want to! But I have one question – what’s a pedi-egg? I get pedi’s on a regular basis but I don’t think I’ve experienced the egg. Also, I’m an OC Blogger – I’d love to be on your list, puhleeez!
