I’m addicted to Ziploc bags. I use them all of the time. And, every morning my kids each get 3 Ziplocs (2 snack size, 1 sandwich size) packed into their respective lunch boxes. It takes petroleum to produce the baggies. They are not biodegrable, and when they do break down they leach harmful chemicals into the earth. More daily guilt. Oh yeah, exactly what I need.
There is no patch or special gum to help me get over my baggy addiction. But, there are “Lunch Skins”. I was pretty excited when I saw these reusable sandwich bags from 3greenmoms on CoolMomPicks (great site that you need to check out). The bags seal and can be washed in the dishwasher. And the fabric is cute to boot! Two bags cost $12…and will help wean me from my Ziploc addiction…one baggy at a time.

I think it’s hilarious we both wrote about ziploc replacements on the same day. Now I have to decide which ones I like better!

Just remind your kids these are REUSEABLE and must come with the lunch box and they don’t toss them in the trash like they’re use to doing!

Good point. That would be a valuable piece of trash at $6 each…

You know Ziploc faces strong competition from such competitors as Glad, Hefty bags and many privately owned, generic, store brand plastic bags and containers.
