Deep Thoughts

Posted by Andrea on September 17th, 2008. Filed under: Costco, Target, deep thoughts.

As I was in the check out line at Costco today, paying them my customary $200 per visit, I started asking myself all kinds of ”why”questions, like:

  • Why do I always spend at least $200 at Costco and at least $100 at Target?
  • Why do I look for any excuse to take a trip to Target? (Oh, we need toothpaste?  Then, I must go to Target!)
  • Why is it that I can enthusiastically wash, dry and fold 9 loads of laundry in one day but getting the clean clothes from the laundry basket into the drawers seems equivalent to climbing Everest?
  • Why don’t I ever win the LOTTO?
  • Why is it that the week I start a project with a brand-new client, my kids get sick, the water heater dies and my husband leaves town on a business trip…all on the same day?!
  • Why can I buy birthday gifts and cards for loved ones well in advance of their b-day yet am physically unable to package everything up and get it to the post office until after their b-day has passed?
  • Why did my impeccable organizational skills seemingly disappear the moment I had children?
  • Why am addicted to celebrity gossip when I know its sick and wrong?
  • Why do salads and sandwiches taste so much better when their prepared for you by someone else?
Deep, huh?
These heady questions reminded of how much I loved “Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy” from SNL…Remember?  Click here to visit the official Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy website.  Very funny.

I must tell you, I was laughing out loud. And, I had my husband read your blog, just so he would realize that I am not the only one who uses the laundry basket (full of clean, folded clothes) as a dresser drawer. Keep blogging and thank you for the laugh!
